* emilie inc.: Kate + Roger's Wedding at The Samoset in Rockport, Maine

I first met Kate at our previous studio space at Emilie's home office.  She came with her parents and I knew then that family was really important to her.  Roger unfortunately couldn't get time off from work, but he still attended the meeting via FaceTime.  When Kate patched him in, I also knew then that their relationship was a solid one, full of kindness and compassion.  Kate's dad joked with Roger.  It was so sweet to witness all this and made me excited to document their wedding.

Fast forward months later to the big day, and everyone I had meet was just as kind and loving to each other and myself, as well as Denise (they had the benefit of hiring a second photographer last minute).  The kindness extended to all of the guests, the other family and friends of Kate and Roger.  Kate said she had some butterflies, but she appeared pretty cool.  She was a beautiful blushing bride, glowing with excitement.  Roger was definitely cool as a cuke, full of his jokes to make Kate laugh and put her at ease.  There it was again -- the love, kindness, and compassion between Kate and Roger that I had witnessed months earlier, over FaceTime no less!

The wedding day had a classic touch with bold navy and white stripes, and just the right amount of nautical touches.  The planning was thoughtful; the details refined.  And the band! -- K2 from Boston -- was killer and had everyone dancing the entire night!  Will and his team at the Samoset did a fantastic job, as usual, orchestrating the entire day and making sure it all ran smoothly.

What a day!  Kate and Roger, thank you again for having Denise and I document your wedding day!  We loved every minute and are so happy for you two.  Hope your Hawaiian honeymoon was a blast!

(Please note, the couple also hired a second photographer, so some of these photos were shot by my fellow emilie inc. photographer, the talented Denise Farwell).
