* Kennebunk splendor

Despite the inclement weather, it was a wonderful weekend in Kennebunk, Maine full of birthday celebrations for two friends.

Photos of the festivities to come....

* Cherries + Polaroids

Hope your Memorial Day Weekend was enjoyable.
Mine was just like a bowl of cherries...

... And fun with old Polaroid film I found. My last pack!

* Birds In Flight Gallery

Hugh Verrier is a 78-year old dimensional watercolor painter and sculptor who owns the Birds In Flight Gallery in Eustis, Maine. He sculpts watercolor paper into birds, his primary subjects, and paints them with vibrant color and exacting detail. These pieces hang artfully on walls and, as far as Verrier knows, he is the only person using this process. Verrier has a true creative spirit and is always experimenting with different techniques and materials. However, no matter the medium, all of Verrier's work exhibits dimension, texture, and the beauty of the natural world.

Visit Hugh Verrier and the Birds In Flight Gallery on Route 27 at 991 Arnold Trail in Eustis, Maine or online at www.birds-in-flight.com.

* Two of my favorite places in Maine

Two favorite places I have come to call home for the winter and summer...

Stratton, Maine -- March 24, 2010:
A frozen Flagstaff Lake as seen at The Long Corner on Rt. 27, just up the road from my place.

Casco Bay, Peaks Island, Maine -- April 9, 2009:
A sunset view of Portland as seen from my place on the shore of Peaks Island.
