Abbi and Aaron decided to brave the weather for their engagement session at Fort Williams Park
in Cape Elizabeth. Glad they did, because the rain held and we had a
blast roaming the park, capturing some sweet moments of these two
lovebirds before their Portland wedding next June. Little pooch
Brooklyn even joined us for a bit, providing canine kisses and showing
off her sit-and-shake-paw skills. Abbi and Aaron's reception will
be held at Ocean Gateway, and to our hilarious surprise, the Nova Star
ship that will be docked there for a bit during their wedding, appeared
on the horizon - clearly there to photo bomb their engagement session
as well! I can't wait for the big day - I have no doubt it'll be a fun
one!

* emilie inc.: Erica + Luc's wedding at the Moffatt-Ladd House and Gardens in Portsmouth, New Hampshire
Erica and Luc's wedding day was beautiful. They married in the gorgeous Moffatt-Ladd House and Gardens in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with about 70 close friends and family in attendance (I was excited to see Audra and Matt as guests; I photographed their wedding
with Emilie almost four years ago, and Audra is a wedding photographer
herself). Although the wedding had the casual Seacoast vibe, there was
an international zest throughout the day. Erica's family is Portuguese
and Luc's family is Dutch -- for some, the wedding was their first or
second visit to the U.S. from the Netherlands. I'll admit, a couple
times I wished I had Erica or Luc by my side as translators during my
attempts to chat with extended family (comical on my part)!
Fortunately, everyone could speak the language of photography, and I was
able to witness, friends, family, and Erica and Luc in sheer happiness
all day.
These two have a quiet, unspoken connection. However, I wrongly assumed Luc of being reserved. He had been calm and gentlemanly throughout the ceremony and portraits, but surprised me at the reception by riding through the venue on Erica's beloved bike, dressed in costume props from their photo booth that were reminiscent of George Clinton and his band Parliament. What had I just witnessed?! Apparently something funkadelic!
Thanks for having for me document your wedding day, Erica and Luc! I have no doubt you enjoyed your honeymoon in Costa Rica!
